The Scrap the Food Waste project is funded by the European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA) under the SMP Food programme for food waste prevention. It will last for 20 months, from July 2024 to February 2026.

Co-funded by the European Union

The project's goal is to reduce food waste in Italian households.
Using its innovative platform, AWorld helps drive behavioral change by combining technology with gamification to educate and raise awareness about responsible consumption.

Users were invited to download the AWorld app, where they accessed a structured and interactive experience featuring educational content and quizzes designed to raise awareness about food waste.

AWorld plays a key role in tracking user engagement and analyzing data. The results of user activities, measured through the app, are shared with the project's partners to evaluate the effectiveness of awareness campaigns and behavior change initiatives. The data collected will contribute to the final report, which aims to assess the impact of the activities and offer best practices for preventing food waste on a national scale.

This data will be used to produce the final report, which will measure the impact of these activities and provide recommendations for reducing food waste on a national scale.
