Inspiring active citizen participation around sustainability
The 2024 Turin edition of Earth Day aimed to inspire active citizen participation around the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and sustainability themes, promoting collective action in support of climate initiatives.

SOLUTION
A large-scale celebration blending technology, gamification and impact
Curated by AWorld in partnership with Club Silencio, the citizen engagement campaign culminated in a large-scale celebration held at the Royal Museums of Turin, in synergy with two other major events: Biennale Tecnologia Torino and the G7 Environment and Energy Summit. Powered by AWorld's ecosystem—blending technology, gamification, and tangible impact—participants engaged in immersive, educational, and interactive experiences both before and during the event. The digital activation through the AWorld app and a dedicated web platform featured collective challenges focused on carbon footprint tracking and SDG education. Once registered with an entry ticket, participants accessed mission-based activities and received sustainable rewards upon completion. The app also tracked CO₂e emissions from attendees' travel to the event, providing a measurable footprint of their journey. As with the 2023 edition, citizens had access to a wide range of physical and digital engagement experiences: labs, hands-on activities, live performances, participatory installations, showcooking sessions, swap markets, talks, immersive content, phygital experiences through the AWorld app, and gamification features. The evening program featured 45 artists across 8 performances and 6 hours of concerts, delivering a high-impact cultural experience. Earth Day 2024 was a carbon-neutral and positive-impact event, thanks to ClimatePartner's offsetting program and partnerships with organizations such as Regusto.
